To rent with CAEA Rent, you must:
Be at least 23 years old
Hold a valid driver’s license for at least 3 years
Present physical documents: driver’s license and passport or national ID (no digital copies)
If your license is not in the Roman alphabet (e.g., Arabic, Cyrillic, Chinese), you’ll also need an International Driving Permit.
Yes — a security deposit is required unless you select our FULL Insurance, which waives the deposit for most groups. If you opt out of FULL Insurance, the deposit amount depends on the vehicle category:

For all vehicles, you can choose between Basic or Full Insurance, depending on the level of protection you prefer.

Provides essential protection and includes:
● Collision & Theft Protection (CDW/TP) with an excess
● €500,000 Third-Party Liability coverage
● Basic roadside assistance (excluding negligence)
FULL Insurance
A premium option for greater safety and comfort, offering:
● Reduced or eliminated excess
● Coverage for theft, attempted theft, and most types of damage
● Extended roadside assistance
Damage from reckless driving or poor parking
Burnt clutch or engine misuse
Damaged rims, tire sidewalls, or car interior
Failure to report accidents with a police report within 24h
Severe damage may still involve paying an excess, depending on the car group.

Cancel at least 48 hours before pickup: 25% booking deposit is refunded

We rent by car group, not exact model. We do our best to accommodate requests but can’t guarantee specific vehicles.
We operate a same-to-same fuel policy.
Please return the vehicle with the same fuel level as at pickup. If not, we charge €25 per missing ¼ tank.
Yes — airport pickups/returns between 08:00 and 02:00 are possible with a €35 after-hours fee.
Pickups at other locations are only available during normal hours.
No. Our vehicles must remain on Madeira Island. Transportation to Porto Santo is strictly prohibited.
